A California Real Estate Investment and Development Partnership

The partnership has developed from the Samuelson Brother’s Construction Company, founded in 1946 by Jack and Robert Samuelson.  They expanded into real estate development 63 years ago with the formation of Samuelson Properties in Southern California and operations primarily in Los Angeles and San Diego Counties.

Samuelson Properties expanded into Arizona through the addition of a new venture with Thomas Hornaday in 1978 and again into Northern California in 1984 through a venture with H. James Schafer, Samuelson Schafer (SS).  A partial list of property which has been developed, owned and operated is included to define the scope and size of the development efforts of the partners.

Originally, retail, commercial/industrial development was the primary goal of the partnership.  It has since expanded into multi-family residential property in both market rate and affordable housing.  The projects developed by Samuelson Partners have reached out to respond to the market and human needs in each community it works in.

It’s efforts have been capitalized through joint ventures with institutional partners, independently through conventional financing, and through government sponsored programs.

Samuelson Schafer is composed of Samuelson Properties (SP), Reid Samuelson and H. James Schafer.  It’s principals have been actively developing and investing in real estate in Northern California since 1984.
